This book is great for acoustic guitarists who have learned the basics and are ready to take the next step. Beginning with a brief review of reading standard music notation and TAB, this book takes you further into three major areas of study: sounds, grooves and special techniques; theory and improvisation; and alternate tunings. You’ll be introduced to a variety of styles including acoustic funk, New Orleans, gypsy swing, Celtic, bluegrass, Cajun and more. Master the upper positions of the guitar fingerboard as you learn major scales, triads and pentatonic scales. Greg Horne makes learning fascinating concepts easy and fun as he introduces modes and several alternate tunings. The CD offers play-along opportunities and demonstrates the examples.
