Thisis adouble vinyl LP pressing of “Dead Set” by The Grateful Dead, released in August 1981, features live recordings from September and October 1980 at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco and Radio City Music Hall in New York. As the band’s seventh live album, itserves asthe electric counterpart to the acoustic “Reckoning,” both recorded during the same concerts.Originallyintended as a single double LP, the extensive material led tothe decision to release”Reckoning” and “Dead Set” separately. Jerry Garcia noted that the idea of one acoustic and one electric album seemed inadequate, given the length of their electric tracks.
