The Astatic 901VP is a variable polar pattern boundary microphone. Mounted flat on a table or ceiling surface, it picks up the whole room evenly, a staple of conference rooms and courtrooms.

It covers 100 Hz – 20 kHz with a variable pickup pattern on a condenser element, keeping the source in focus while pushing room noise and bleed to the background. Sensitivity is rated at -33dBV (22.4mV) @ 1Pa, and it handles peaks up to 120dB, so loud sources will not push it into distortion. Self noise is just 22 dBA, quiet enough for close recording work. Astatic has built commercial and installed-sound hardware in the American tradition since 1931, and this piece continues that line: specified by integrators, trusted in courtrooms, council chambers, and houses of worship.
