This is a vinyl LP pressing of Is This It by The Strokes. Offering a Rock & Roll antidote to the wave of boy bands, teen divas, and rap-rock trends, The Strokes channel the raw energy of New York legends like the Velvet Underground and the New York Dolls. Clocking in at 36 minutes, the album is packed with standout tracks, including “Last Nite,” with its Motown-inspired backbeat and gritty guitar solo, and “Someday,” a jangly reflection on heartbreak. Julian Casablancas Lou Reed-esque vocals pair perfectly with the angular, intertwining guitar work of Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., particularly on tracks like “The Modern Age” and “Alone, Together.” Is This It reaffirmed that Rock & Roll was alive and thriving.
